Ms. Jeter grew up and attended school in Lamesa, Texas. After she finished school in Lamesa in 1975, she attended Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, Hardin Simmons University, and Texas Tech. She was graduated from Hardin Simmons in May of 1990. In December of 1995, she obtained her master's degree in Instructional Technology from Texas Tech, in May of 2004 she obtained certification in School Counseling from Hardin Simmons. She also has 18 hours of graduate level math courses.

Ms. Jeter taught at Rotan High School, Aspermont High School, and Jayton High School. She married Ross Jeter in December of 1976 and returned to Lamesa. She and her husband then moved to Jayton in 1978 to farm. Beginning in April of 1990 at Rotan, September of 1990 at Aspermont and September of 1996 at Jayton, she taught 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. Then she became counselor for PreK-12 in 2002. She now teaches Career Education, Algebra II, College Algebra and College Trigonometry along with the counseling. She has three children, Rusti Barnett, Morgan Boyd, and Seth Jeter. Rusti is married to Joe Barnett of Levelland and they have two children, Colton and Courtney, she was graduated from Jayton in 1995 and lives in Kyle, Texas. Morgan is married to Andy

Body of Lamesa and they have two children, Jadyn and Kash, she was graduated from Jayton in 2000 and live in Lamesa. Seth is single, he attends South Plains College and was graduated from Jayton in 2001, he lives in Lubbock.

One interesting thing about Ms. Jeter is that she is afraid of heights. She loves to read and hike.
